Dodge Grand Caravan Tops Minivan Sales

Minivans seem to be popular once again, with the outgoing Dodge Grand Caravan gaining top sales in 2011. 2013 will be the final year for this award winning vehicle, as the auto maker trades it in for a crossover design. But is did gain over 90,000 units sold so far this year!

Dodge numbers also take into account fleet sales, as minivans are popular vehicles with many rental car agencies and taxi companies. "Through October, the Dodge Grand Caravan was first [in minivan sales], recording 92,930 sales," according to Rick Kranz of Automotive News.1

The slightly redesigned Caravan now features a crosshair grille, along with classic Stow-and-Go seating, made famous by parent company Chrysler.

Japanese car companies are right behind Dodge in van sales for 2011, though as long as parts suppliers are able to deliver, there's no reason shoppers will find empty lots at Stann McNabb Automotive.
